Welcome to the wonderful world of Cucina Bambini

Meet Rosa and Amobi.

Rosa is our Head chef she is from Lago di Como in Italy and thus our name 'Cucina Bambini' which mean The Children's Kitchen in Italian. Rosa is the most passionate chef you will ever meet and her list of favorite foods is gigantic, she always said that risotto Milanese was the best rice dish she had ever tasted.......That's until Amobi turned up!

Amobi is from Lagos, the big city in Nigeria. When Amobi enters the kitchen every one knows he's here, full of life and laughter he cooks with joy and happiness in his heart. And perhaps that's the reason his Jollof rice is now deemed the best rice in the world by Rosa. Amobi would beg to differ as in his mind and heart he knows it is his mothers special recipe passed down through four generations before her that gives it its real authentic Nigerian taste!

What's the inspiration behind Rosa and Amobi?

With Rosa the clue is in our mother companies name 'Bianchis' which hails from our Nonno (Grandfather) who was in Italy, Lago di Como in the lake district of Northern Italy to be precise. As young children our parents would drive us across France and through Switzerland every summer to visit our relatives on Lake Como and we all have incredible memories of the food we first experienced on those beautiful lake shores.

Amobi and his Jollof rice came from my time (Ben Harvey - Director of Bianchis Group), working in schools in South London as a development chef for five years. I worked with dozens of fantastic cooks but some of the proudest and most skilled were the dinner ladies who came from Nigeria and man did they cook a good Jollof rice, so good I would often make sure I visited before lunch so that I could get a helping before the kids got to it!
